Netflix Teases Beyoncé ‘Homecoming’ Documentary

Beyoncé is about to make the world stop once again.

On Sunday (April 7), Netflix teased a mysterious project called “Homecoming,” which is reportedly about Beyoncé’s epic performance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. The streaming service tweeted a graphic reading “Homecoming” against a yellow backdrop and an April 17 release date, which was also posted on its Strong Black Lead account.

Fans were quick to notice that the color scheme and font matches Beyoncé’s Coachella branding and merch from 2018. The April 17 release date would fall nearly one year after Bey’s acclaimed “Beychella” set, which was inspired by the HBCU homecoming weekend experience.

Earlier this week, Us Weekly reported that Beyoncé was working on a Netflix documentary “tied to her Coachella 2018 performance” that would feature additional footage.

Beyoncé became the first black woman to headline Coachella with her epic two-hour set in Indio, Calif. Last year, she also announced the Homecoming Scholars Award Program, an initiative that provides $25,000 scholarships to students at HBCUs.

While there hasn’t been confirmation, that didn’t stop fans from sharing their excitement over the prospect of a Beyoncé Netflix special.
