New York rapper Mysonne is pulling for true justice. The hip-hop veteran has reacted to former Fort Worth police officer Aaron Dean getting arrested for killing black woman Atatiana Jefferson in her home.
Mysonne went to Instagram Monday to show his support for Jefferson’s family and push for a conviction.
According to reports, Dean is locked up but expected to post bail.
The white Fort Worth police officer who fatally shot a 28-year-old black woman in her home over the weekend has been charged with murder, authorities said Monday. The officer, Aaron Dean, who resigned earlier in the day, was booked into the Tarrant County Jail, according to police. Bond has been set at $200,000, jail records show. (Washington Post)
Over the past few days, Mysonne has kept fans updated on the horrific shooting’s aftermath and centered on police brutality growing across the nation.
Since last June, the fatal shooting is just one of multiple police-related slayings.
Relatives called for the federal government to investigate the shooting, citing the department’s recent record of officer-involved shootings. Since June 1, Fort Worth officers have killed six people, including Jefferson. One other person was wounded. Merritt, the family’s attorney, said the department was in need of “serious systematic reform.” (Dallas News)
