Mysonne Encourages Everyone To Support JAY-Z + Colin Kaepernick: “Love Jay-Z ‘AND’ Take A Knee”

Mysonne

New York rapper Mysonne isn’t here for division. The hip-hop veteran has encouraged people to support both JAY-Z and Colin Kaepernick following a publicized NFL partnership.

Mysonne went to Instagram this weekend to keep it 100 on why fans shouldn’t feel like choosing sides.

This week, retired NBA champion Matt Barnes went to Instagram to encourage fans to let JAY’s situation come together before slamming him for joining forces with the controversial football league.

According to new reports, JAY’s publicized NFL/Roc Nation partnership will ultimately allow him to take ownership in a professional team.

Jay-Z had multiple reasons for becoming part of the NFL family, and TMZ Sports has learned one of them is that he is going to become part owner of an NFL team … and it’s going to happen soon. Sources connected to Jay and with direct knowledge tell us … Jay is going to have a “significant ownership interest” in an NFL team. As for which team … we’re not being told, but we are told “it is going to happen in the near future.” (TMZ)

Over the past few days, JAY’s NFL deal has sparked backlash from strong supporters of NFL free agent and Black Lives Matter activist Colin Kaepernick.

(Click the link in my bio for a full breakdown.) When Jay Z says “We’re past kneeling” exactly who does he mean by “we?” Because he never took a knee. It’s a slap in the face of my brothers @kstills & @e_reid35 who, with the pressure of the world on their backs, are still taking a knee AND doing the hard work to fight for people off the field. Here’s what I know, because they tell me: people whose loved ones who are killed by police feel forgotten. Can you even name a single person killed by police this year? It’s already over 700 people. And their stories aren’t even being told. And they tell me they are GRATEFUL to know that Kenny and Eric and @kaepernick7 have not forgotten them. I have to say this again: If a man had aided my friend losing his career for 3 years, and continued to do so, this picture could not be a reality. Tell me this, and be honest, do you sincerely think the joy in this photo is about social justice and civil rights? Do you think NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is THIS happy because he knows they are about to do some hardcore work on police brutality? This is a money photo of two men very happy because they just helped each other out in a very particular kind of way. Listen, my job is to speak truth to power. It’s why I’m independent. I’ve appeared in Jay Z’s documentaries. I love some of his work, but no man is beyond discussion or criticism.
