Although he previously expressed no interest in joining the cast of How High 2, its been confirmed that Mike Epps will reprise his role as Baby Powder.

Epps is set to join the cast with Lil Yachty, DeRay Davis, D.C. Young Fly, Alyssa Goss, and Mary Lynn Rajskub. Special guest appearances include Lil Baby, Blac Youngsta, and Justine Skye. MTV also revealed the production is slate to begin April 20th.

The script written by Family Guy and Futurama writer Shawn Ries, Big Mouth‘s Artie Johann, Workaholics‘ Alex Blagg, and Powerless‘ Neel Shah.

Quality Control’s Pierre Thomas and Coach K are notably credited for executive production.

Redman told the Grass Routes podcast that Mike Epps and Method Man simply didn’t have the same interest in the film that they did years ago. Plus, decisions were made without their input.

“What happened is that a branch that’s under Universal decided [they were] gonna shoot this movie,” he said at the time. “And they did not need permission from us because we didn’t own the rights to How High.”

At the end of the day, the two original co-stars were asked to join the sequel, but declined.
