Megan Thee Stallion Draws Criticism from Kodak Black and Producer

The talent feud between Kodak Black and Megan Thee Stallion continued this week with both Kodak Black and his producer calling Megan’s talent and creativity into question.

The mini-feud started a few months ago when during an interview with DJ Akademiks for the Off The Record podcast, Kodak hinted that Megan stole the “drive the boast” movement from him and never properly credited him.

On Friday, Megan tweeted “Yb is better … ratio,” a popular reference to NBA Youngboy. She followed it up with two more tweets. The first read “Ended hotties” and the second said “You fell off… period.”

While she didn’t mention names, Kodak may have taken it personally since he and NBA Youngboy have been in a long-standing beef.

The phrase “YB Better” comes from a marketing campaign in which Atlantic put up billboards with the slogan “YB Better,” in advance of NBA Youngboy’s album release. Since then, it’s been dropped in almost every other artist’s social media comments.

However, it was Kodak’s producer Dyryk who put Megan on blast on Instagram following her series of tweets, essentially accusing her of not writing her own music. (Megan has been criticized for her heavy use of ghostwriters in the past.) In an Instagram live story, he posted the following: ““@TheeStallion BEEN IN YOUR WRITING CAMPS WITH ALL YOUR ‘GO-TO WRITERS,’” he wrote in all caps. “YOU ARE DEFINITELY NOT THE TALENT BEHIND ANY OF YOUR RECORDS. GO CLING ON THAT BOTTLE AND RE-CUT THAT VERSE ONE MORE TIME, YOU DIDN’T MATCH THE REFERENCE THEY WROTE FOR YOU.”

For now, there has been no response from Megan who is currently performing at Austin City Limits music festival this weekend.
