Meek Mill is making a massive effort to give back and mold his hometown community of Philadelphia. According to TMZ, the Roc Nation emcee has reportedly teamed up with the label alongside PUMA to remodel and restore a basketball court at East Fairmount Park in North Philly.
Mill, who doubtlessly gives the town constant public embrace chose aforementioned court due to its ties with his own upbringing being located in his direct hometown. His inborn compassion plays a grand role in his desire to support the neighborhood’s youth with a fledged resource.
“North Philly will always be home. When kids go to East Fairmount Park, they deserve to ball in the best conditions possible, so I’m glad they’ll have that opportunity now,” Meek told TMZ.
Meek is set to make the official announcement about the bighearted effort over the next couple of days, including its exact orderliness. His bighearted endeavors for Philly are not new measures, by the way. In August, the “Make Em Say” rapper donated over 6,000 backpacks to Philly elementary, middle, and high school students and even made a surprise visit to his former elementary school, James G. Blaine Elementary School to deliver the backpacks. Just in due time for back-to-school, Meek threw in pencil sharpeners, rulers, glue sticks and crayons for the young children and erase markers, notebooks, and pens for high school students.
“Those memories stay with me and that’s why I’m committed to giving back to families in my hometown, putting smiles on kids’ faces and helping them start the school year on the right note with the right supplies,” Meek told TMZ about the giveaway.
With the overwhelming amount of support Mill’s received during his sentencing, it seems only proper-stemming from his genuine core that he gives back to the Philly community. This gesture, being openly performed by a current rapper, who is experiencing one of the many eras of his prime time is a perfect element that may boost and refine the narrative of the average Hip-Hop rapper.
