On Sunday, on the one-year anniversary of his album Hotel Diablo, the Cleveland rapper took to Instagram to reveal that his dad passed away.

In an interview with The New York Times, the 30-year-old rapper—born Richard Colson Baker—revealed that he recently reconciled with his father, who was hospitalized with a non-COVID-19-related illness.
“It sucks because I really just want to just scream and cry and sit in my room and just wait for someone to come tell me it’s going to be all good,” he said.
He was overcome with emotion as he reflected on their relationship. “He’s so stoked that I’m playing guitar now. He called me the other day and told me that he’s really starting to enjoy my music,” he added. “And he’s super proud of me.”
Machine Gun Kelly recently made headlines after confirming his relationship with Megan Fox, who co-starred in his video for “Bloody Valentine.” He is now readying his new album, Tickets to My Downfall, for release this month.
