Nearly three months since his death, Spotify has released two posthumous tracks from Mac Miller.
First up is a piano-driven version of “Dunno,” which originally appeared on his August album Swimming. “Wouldn’t you rather get along?” Miller asks an ex-girlfriend.
The second is a cover of Billy Preston’s 1974 hit “Nothing From Nothing.” Over the stripped-down keys, Miller delivers the introspective lyrics. “Nothin’ from nothin’ leaves nothin’ / You gotta have somethin’ if you want to be with me,” he sings in a bluesy tone.
Both songs were recorded live at Spotify Studios in New York City before Miller’s death on Sept. 7 and can be found on his Spotify Singles playlist.
Miller died from an accidental overdose of fentanyl, cocaine, and alcohol, according to the L.A. County Coroner. Last month, friends including Chance the Rapper, SZA, and Travis Scott paid tribute to him during the “Celebration of Life” concert to benefit his Circles Fund foundation.
