Lil Wayne can’t keep his hands off of illegal firearms and according to Miami-Dade Police and the FBI, the New Orleans-based rapper has admitted to owning a gold-plated pistol found in his luggage by investigators.

An anonymous tip led Miami-Dade police and FBI agents to board the Gulfstream V aircraft at Opa-locka Airport, which had just arrived from California. The plane’s pilot allowed officers to search the aircraft.

According to the records from the search warrant used on December 23, 2019 to search Wayne’s private jet, the YMCMB capo appeared high and admitted to the authorities to owning the which he said he received as a Father’s Day gift. Officers also found bullets, suspected cocaine, ecstasy, marijuana, heroin, pain killers, prescription-strength cough syrup and $25,938 in cash.

As a convicted felon, the 37 year old CMB veteran cannot be in possession of any weapons, legal or illegal, according to federal law. Wayne has yet to be charged and was allowed to leave following the interrogation, however, the FBI may take the case to a federal grand jury and seek an indictment.

The Carter V rapper was convicted in 2010 of criminal possession of a weapon after a semi-automatic firearm was found on his tour bus in New York in 2007. Wayne served eight months on a one year sentence on Riker’s Island for that charge.
