The stars are aligning for the BET Awards.
BET has announced the first round of performers for the 2020 show, which includes veterans like Lil Wayne, Alicia Keys, Usher, John Legend, and Jennifer Hudson.
The star-studded lineup also includes DaBaby, Megan Thee Stallion, Roddy Ricch, and Summer Walker, as well as Chloe x Halle, D Smoke, Jonathan McReynolds, Kane Brown, SiR, and Wayne Brady. Emerging acts Masego and Lonr will perform on the BET Amplified Music Stage.
Drake leads the nominees for this year’s show with six, followed by Megan Thee Stallion and Roddy Ricch with five nominations each. Other multiple nominees include Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, Lizzo, and DaBaby.
Actress and comedian Amanda Seales will host the 20th annual ceremony, which will simulcast live for the first time ever on BET and CBS on June 28 at 8 p.m. ET. In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, BET announced that they would broadcast the awards show “using an array of innovative techniques and artist-generated content.”
Terrence J and Erica Ash will co-host the interactive pre-show featuring celebrities, nominees, and special guests starting at 7 p.m. ET.
