Are Drake and Lil Wayne plotting a sequel to their co-headlining “Drake vs. Lil Wayne” tour?
At the final stop of Drake’s “Aubrey and the Three Migos Tour” in Atlanta on Nov. 18, the Young Money boss delivered a congratulatory message to his protégé.
“Champagne, wassup man? Congratulations on your tour…you a bad motherf**ker. Much success, much love, much credit, all due, all well-deserved, you earned it all bro,” said Weezy (via HipHop-N-More).
During his videotaped speech, he also hinted that the two may go back on the road together. “I can’t wait to get back on that stage and we do our own tour again. ‘Drake vs. Tune, Wayne’…whatever you wanna call it,” added Tunechi. “You will never win, you never do. Congratulations.”
While their official plans remain unclear, the idea has fans excited about a potential sequel to their 2014 joint trek, which was inspired by Capcom’s Street Fighter video game. The rappers would battle each other onstage nightly and the audience would vote to determine who was the “best rapper in the world.”
The news follows rumors of a potential collaboration between OVO and Young Money called Wolf SZN. Lil Wayne HQ posted an image that teases a “special musical collection from the Young Money & OVO family” and a release date of January.
