Lil’ Kim Cancels Press Appearances, Blasts Media

Lil’ Kim is going “Awff” on the media.

The rap icon backed out of a series of press appearances that she had lined up for this week. Taking to Instagram Live, she addressed the reason behind the cancelations, saying some of the media outlets want to be “messy.”

“One of the reasons it’s not happening is because two of the major outlets wanted to be messy,” said the Queen Bee. “And my publicist and my manager made the executive decision to shut it down. At this point, it’s about me. I’m that bitch, nothing else. I refuse to fu**ing keep doing all of these interviews, publications, and all of that shit if motherfu**ers is not gonna respect who I am, what I’ve done, where I’m at now. Put some fu**ing respect on my name. Period.”

She was set to do interviews with outlets including “Access Hollywood,” the “Today” show, and Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live,” whose host Andy Cohen she called out. “I have a cool relationship with [Andy], which I thought, but…I know y’all,” she said. “Some of my fans, y’all get on my nerves. I love y’all, but y’all get on my nerves. Y’all don’t be understanding, shit be deeper than what y’all fu**ing know.”

She went on to demand respect from the media and her fans. “If y’all don’t see me doing press, if y’all don’t see me doing certain things, it’s ’cause I’m fighting. I’m fu**ing fighting. I’m not fu**ing just about to have motherfu**ers not put respect on my name. So don’t act stupid. Don’t start asking all these dumb questions.”

Kim said she’s had enough and won’t be entertaining any BS. “It be these motherfu**ers trying to use me and my iconic status to get a moment. F**k that, I’m the moment. I’m that bitch just like I said. I’m tired of this shit. It be big shit going down when I decline something or when I say I’m not doing something. It be corporate meetings and all types of shit, y’all have no idea.”

In closing, she asked her fans to support her decisions. “If I’m fu**ing turning something down, I just want y’all to know it’s a reason behind everything.”

Kim has been working on 9, her first album in 14 years, which was set for release on May 17. It has since been delayed, but she assured fans that it’s “coming real, real soon.”

She also stars alongside Mýa and Chilli on VH1’s new docuseries “Girls Cruise,” which premieres July 15.
