New York rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine might not have to worry about spending Christmas behind bars. A non-profit attorney believes there’s reason enough to believe the jailed hip-hop artist will be released from prison next week with time served.

New footage has surfaced explaining how key paperwork hints at 6ix9ine getting out of a hefty sentence in his federal racketeering case.

This week, a letter surfaced from 6ix9ine pleading with his judge to consider a light sentence.

According to reports, prosecutors recently asked a judge to consider taking it easy when 6ix9ine learns his fate in the publicized federal racketeering case later this month.

The government did not specify the sentence it believes Judge Paul Engelmayer should impose later this month. But Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Longyear’s effusive praise of Tekashi’s “incredibly significant and extremely useful” cooperation against the Nine Trey Bloods raised the prospect the Brooklyn-born trash-talker will get a sentence of time-served. “There is no question that the defendant’s life will never be the same because of his cooperation in this case. He and his family will have to take extra safety precautions when being in public so as to avoid potential reprisals from others,” Longyear wrote in a letter filed in Manhattan Federal Court. 6ix9ine’s cooperation helped convict multiple former affiliates.

The feds say 6ix9ine walked them through his social media posts to provide context for the criminal actions of the gang — which they say the defendants, Anthony “Harv” Ellison and Aljermiah Mack, claimed was all a hoax to promote Tekashi’s music. They say his testimony convinced the jury otherwise. As we reported … Tekashi copped a plea deal after pleading guilty to racketeering, firearms offenses, conspiracy, narcotics trafficking and other crimes. 6ix9ine agreed to be a cooperating witness, and without that would be facing a mandatory minimum sentence of 47 years in prison.
