Kodak Black found himself in the unusual company of Kendrick Lamar.
Comedian Lil Duval caused a stir on social media when he compared the “ZEZE” rapper’s lyrical skills to that of the Pulitzer-winning MC.
“Kodak really up there with Kendrick lyrically but y’all don’t wanna hear it tho,” Duval tweeted.

Unsurprisingly, his opinion caused an uproar, with many slamming the controversial comparison. “This the worse musical take I seen since ni**as said carti the new tupac,” tweeted one person, while another added, “This is wild disrespectful to kdot.”

Amid the backlash, Kodak himself weighed in, asking that he be judged for his talent and not his headline-making antics.
“I understand it be controversial shit behind me but I’ll appreciate it if y’all just worry bout me Fa my talent & not da other shit on social media !!! Thank You,” he wrote in an Instagram comment.
It’s been a busy year for the 24-year-old rapper. After his prison sentence was commuted by Donald Trump in January, he released his Haitian Boy Kodak project in May, followed by his Happy Birthday Kodak EP in June.
