‘Tis the season for award nominations, and it would seem that Kendrick Lamar could be racking them up.
Following nominations for both the 2019 Grammy Awards and the 2019 Golden Globe Awards for his commitment to the Black Panther soundtrack, the SZA-assisted single, “All The Stars,” K. Dot has been added to the Best Original Song shortlist for the 2019 Oscars. The list was announced late yesterday (Dec. 17).
Different nominations include Sampha’s “Treasure” from Beautiful Boy, Quincy Jones, Chaka Khan and Mark Ronson’s “Keep Reachin’” from Quincy and Sade’s “The Big Unknown” from Widows.
In a report published recently, Kendrick Lamar denied any plans for another album — however he said he has been “jotting down thoughts, ideas and questions.” He stayed bashful when asked what kind of questions he had but said that he has been working on a long-form creative project and was going to hit the studio.
