“Empire” star Jussie Smollett‘s publicized Chicago attack is going to receive some serious attention in the coming days. New reports claim his case is now heading to a grand jury.

According to reports, a grand jury will hear Smollett’s case early next week.

Law enforcement sources connected to the investigation tell TMZ, the 2 brothers who were arrested and then released are staying somewhere around the Loop in downtown Chicago under the watchful eye of police so no one gets to them. We’re told cops especially want to make sure Jussie does not contact the brothers. (TMZ)

This weekend, Top Dawg Entertainment co-president Punch shared his thoughts on Jussie possibly staging his attack.

Smollett has already lawyered up amid growing drama surrounding his Chi-Town attack.

Jussie Smollett has hired Michael Cohen’s criminal defense lawyer, the attorney confirmed this week, amid the deepening mystery of the “Empire” actor’s claim that he was the victim of a hate attack. “Yes, at the moment, I am,” Michael Monico, a former federal prosecutor in Illinois’ Northern District, told WGN’s “The Roe Conn Show” on Thursday.
