Juice WRLD is on top of the charts.
The Chicago rapper earns his first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with his sophomore album Death Race for Love, which sold 165,000 equivalent album units in its first week. Of that number, 43,000 were in album sales.
The project, which features Young Thug and Brent Faiyaz, has the largest sales and streaming week for a hip-hop/R&B album in 2019 with 176.44 million on-demand audio streams. The last hip-hop/R&B album to tally a larger week in both units and streams was Meek Mill’s Championships in December.
Juice WRLD previously scored a pair of top 10 albums in 2018. WRLD on Drugs, his collaborative project with Future, debuted and peaked at No. 2 in November, while his debut album Goodbye & Good Riddance reached as high as No. 8 in August.
Elsewhere in the top 10, Ariana Grande’s Thank U, Next holds at No. 2 with 72,000 equivalent album units. Post Malone’s beerbongs & bentleys jumps 11-7 (32,000), Gunna’s Drip or Drown 2 remains at No. 8 (31,000), and Drake’s Scorpion rises 12-9 (30,000).
Travis Scott’s Astroworld rounds out the top 10, rising 13-10 with 28,000 units.
