Jordan Peele’s upcoming thriller, Us is eyeing a potential $35-$40 million box office opening.
That’s a little over the $33.3 million Get Out raked in for its $4.5 million budget. Jordan Peele’s directorial debut ultimately grossed around a 5.3x multiple of $176M stateside ($255.4M worldwide), four Oscar nods including Best Picture and a win for Peele’s Original Screenplay.
Us stars Lupita Nyongo and is about a family vacation gone wrong once they’re terrorized by a group of doppelgängers.
The flick makes its debut at SXSW on March 8th and Universal Studios pushed the release date a week back from March 15 to March 22.
The new projections and release delay definitely makes the forthcoming movie seem promising.
