Jacquees
turned the heads of many earlier this year when he self-proclaimed himself as
the “King of R&B.” The Georgia native is known for making great remixes of
songs, which may sometimes seem to be ever greater than the original. His remix
to Ella Mai’s “Trip” was removed from all streaming platforms once the remix’s
views surpassed the original Ella Mai version of the tune. The singer has faced
a few more bumps in the road due to similar encounters. At one point, fans grew
tired of the singer’s covers. In 2018, fans that weren’t in favor of the
constant Quemixes created a petition with over 53,000 signatures to stop
Jacquees from continuing to do covers.
Since then, the singer has begun to fallback from putting a twist on
other artist’s songs, despite the fact that his remixes play a big part in the
reason some fans love him now, to then focusing on creating his own. Fans who
love his Quemix’s were excited to see his tweet on Twitter that reads, “2020 I’m
back remixing everybody songs,” because there’s nothing like a good Quemix.
As we wait for what the singer has in store for 2020, you can now go stream his new album, King Of R&B, which includes some of today’s favorites including, Tory Lanez, Summer Walker, Lil Baby, Gunna, and Young Thug.
