Los Angeles-based Swedish singer and songwriter Linn Holmes released her debut solo EP, “Introducing Linn Holmes,” on July 12th. This release marks a collection of original tracks that capture her unique sound and artistic vision.
“Introducing Linn Holmes” is a rock EP featuring four songs written by Holmes and Rev. Tom Chandler. Inspired by the icons of the 70s, the EP showcases musicians Daniel Jakubovic, Derek Frank, Adam Peri, Andrew Benjamin Maldonado, Tom Chandler, Alexy Shant Yeghikian, and Jenny Dang. Each track on the EP reflects Holmes’ deep appreciation for the rich musical heritage of the past while infusing it with a contemporary flair. It is a Nostalgic Rock Revival.
Earlier this year, Holmes made a powerful solo entrance into the music scene with her debut single “Cut Me,” released on April 5th. This emotionally charged track explores themes of susceptibility and resilience. The single received widespread acclaim, setting the stage for the release of her EP.
Following the success of “Cut Me,” Holmes released another single, “Baby Blue,” on May 31st. This lively, upbeat pop song combines the vibrant sounds of the 70s with a modern twist. The production, handled by Rev. Tom Chandler, showcases a rich mix of instruments played by Daniel Jakubovic—drums, guitar, piano, and bass—alongside electronic production elements created by Jenny Dang.
Besides her new solo career Linn Holmes, has an extensive background as a session singer, performing and recording background vocals for a wide variety of bands and artists.
Holmes began singing at a young age, joining her mother in a gospel choir and later performing in choirs herself. With strong encouragement from her parents, she started playing guitar, singing, and writing songs, drawing inspiration from both her mother’s gospel roots and her father’s love for rock ‘n’ roll.
Looking ahead, Linn Holmes she has more releases planned for the near future and is thrilled to share her music with the world.
