British actor Idris Elba is closing out 2018 with a bang, His critically acclaimed BBC hit series Luther will make its return to the small screen. People magazine named him as the “sexiest man alive.” Even his daughter was named a Golden Globe ambassador. He is winning. But Elba’s desire is also for women to win as well.
In a recent interview with The Sunday Times, Elba was asked if it’s hard to be a man in Hollywood now due to the #MeToo movement, which has led to men who hold high-ranking positions in the entertainment industry be held accountable for their abuse of power and sexual misconduct against women. Elba simply responded, “It’s only difficult if you’re a man with something to hide.” That was big facts from Elba.
Elba’s response has been receiving praise for his support of the #MeToo movement from Ava Duvernay, Valerie Jarret, and Shonda Rhimes.

Elba is vocal about his support of women. Commenting about his role in Molly’s Game, he said,” “Of course, this is a film that was made a year ago, and probably prepped two or three years ago, but to come out when its coming out now is actually quite amazing when we’re seeing women stand up and have a liberation movement of speaking up against some of their atrocities that have happened,”
