H.E.R. paid tribute to the King of Pop during her stirring late-night performance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

With a guitar in hand and shades over her eyes, Apple Music’s “Up Next” artist delivered the standout off her new EP I Used to Know Her: Part 2. Singing over a sample of Michael Jackson’s classic “Earth Song,” she delivered chills while accompanied by a band and backup singers.

“Hey, what about yesterday (What about us)? / What about the seas (What about us)?” she sang, echoing the chorus from MJ’s 1995 environmental anthem.

“Fate” can be found on H.E.R.’s I Used to Know Her: Part 2 EP, which was released earlier this month, and follows her August EP The Prelude.
