Lightweight boxing champ Gervonta Davis has turned himself in after a video circulated online showing him assaulting his ex-girlfriend, who is also the mother of his child.
Police state the boxer will be charged with simple battery and domestic violence charges and is being processed.
The boxer was in Miami for Super Bowl Weekend and was at a charity basketball game. The viral clip shows Davis dragging his ex-girlfriend out of the gym by the neck.
In addition to the video going viral, the victim alerted Coral Gables police.
“I never once hit her … yeah I was aggressive and told her come on,” Davis said on Instagram over the weekend. “That’s the mother of my child. I would never hurt her.”
