In light of the Surviving R. Kelly documentary, R. Kelly is now being criminally investigated int he state of Georgia. Reports state the Fulton County District Attorney Office has launched an investigation in regards to the claim of the six-part docu-series and has reached out to the survivors that graced screens across America.
In addition, the attorney for the family of Joycelyn Savage, one of the girls still believed to be living with R. Kelly, was contacted by the Chief Investigator.
Issues for R. Kelly are not only regulated to Georgia. The Chicago Tribune reports Cook County State Attorney Kim Foxx is requesting for anyone with knowledge in Illinois to contact the office, citing prosecution against the R&B singer could not be done without anyone impacted or happened to see an incident. Foxx would go on to reveal that the parents for the two missing girls in the documentary, Savage and Azriel Clary, have contacted her office after being missing for four years.
“The idea that a prosecutor would solicit potential victims like a late-night personal injury attorney is offensive,” R. Kelly’s attorney Steve Greenberg said to the Tribune. “People know if they are a victim of a crime to contact the police. Nobody has come forward and said they were the victim of any misconduct by Mr. Kelly because nobody has been.”
