Boxing icon Floyd Mayweather Jr. isn’t ready to hang the gloves up forever. The sports mogul has announced a much-needed return to the boxing ring.
Last night, Money Mayweather went online to break the massive news to fans.
In a separate post, Floyd revealed he had something brewing with UFC president Dana White.
Some speculation suggests Mayweather and White may have a new boxing venture in the works.
For months now, White has teased Zuffa Boxing. What better way to lead off White’s boxing venture with a bang than with Mayweather as the headliner. Such a partnership is something that could be very lucrative for both sides. Then again, Mayweather also said recently in an interview with Yahoo! Sports that he’s done with boxing. It’s hard to say what the actual truth is at this point. (BJ Penn)
Mayweather made massive headlines after earning a 50-0 career record when he defeated UFC fighter Conor McGregor in a boxing match.
The 42-year-old has returned from retirement in the past, most notably to take on UFC star Conor McGregor in 2017. However, he hasn’t competed professionally since that win as he became 50-0 for his career. With the possibility of make a switch to mixed martial arts, we could be looking at a potential McGregor rematch, with this one coming in the Octagon. (Bleacher Report)
