“Empire” star Bryshere “Hakeem” Gray looks like he’s “this” close to having Cardi B land a fire guest spot on an upcoming episode. The hip-hop actor hit up social media this weekend to share an epic shot of himself alongside the female diva.
Gray hopped on Instagram Saturday (September 29) and urged fans to weigh-in with a lion emoji if they think a collabo should go down.

Coincidentally, “Empire” co-creator Lee Daniels recently took credit for discovering Cardi B.
“My favorite hip-hop artist right now, today, is Cardi B. She came to my Instagram. You can dig deep into my Instagram, dig deep, I was looking for somebody for ‘Star’ and she came in to audition for me and I said, ‘Do you mind if I,’ before she got on the reality show [‘Love & Hip Hop’], even before the reality show – [Love & Hip Hop executive producer] Mona told me she hired her from [looking at] my Instagram. So yeah, I think she’s my favorite right now. … I’ve seen her a little bit. I think she’s fantastic.” (TMZ)
Recently, Cardi kept things fully 100 and addressed people praying on her downfall.
“Why can’t y’all just stop making rumors trying to make me look like I’m over? When my time is over, y’all will see when my time is over. My numbers will be going down, I’m not going to be on the charts. People will stop f*cking with me. You will see it. But God’s saying it’s not my time yet. So just relax. Enjoy the show and worry about your life. A lot of people are invested. This is the thing I don’t like about the Internet nowadays because nowadays people are invested a lot in celebrities’ lives. You want to know something? When I was 18, when I was 19, the Internet wasn’t popping too much. People was just doing money, trying to get money. I didn’t give a f*ck about no celebrity – stop worrying about that. Y’all are lucky. We are lucky. We are in the Internet era bro.”
Earlier in the week, B reacted to becoming the first female rapper with three Hot 100 chart-topping singles.
