Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj Earn First Hot 100 No. 1 with ‘Say So’

Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj are on top of the charts.

Their collaboration “Say So” rises to No. 1 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100, earning both artists their first leader on the chart. The song, which originally appeared on Doja’s album Hot Pink, jumps 6-1 following the remix with Minaj.

Minaj lands her 109th entry on the Hot 100 with “Say So.” She holds the record for the longest that a Hot 100-topping artist has had to wait for a first No. 1. She first appeared on the Hot 100 in February 2010 with Lil Wayne’s “Knockout.” “Say So” is also Minaj’s 18th Hot 100 top 10. She previously peaked at No. 2 with “Anaconda” in 2014.

Additionally, she has the most Hot 100 entries among women in the chart’s history, and now ties Elvis Presley for the fourth-most entries among all acts.

“Say So” was in a close battle for No. 1 with Megan Thee Stallion’s “Savage,” which rises from No. 4 to No. 2 following the surprise remix with Beyoncé. Meg earns her first top 10 on the chart, while Beyoncé achieves her 19th.

For the first time in Hot 100 history, the top two entries feature two female rappers in lead roles. “I’m happy to be apart of the history that was made today,” tweeted Meg.

Additionally, Drake has two songs in the top 10 this week. His former leader “Toosie Slide” drops 3-4, while “Pain 1993” featuring Playboi Carti debuts at No. 7. Drake also scores his 38th top 10, tying Madonna for the most top 10s in the Hot 100’s history.
