The unexpected passing of Kim Porter has sent shock waves through the hip-hop community. Many have offered condolences and well-wishes to her family especially to her children.
Over 1,000 people came to her funeral on Saturday, November 24th. Faith Evans and Yolanda Adams both sang solos in her honor. Sean “Diddy” Combs, her former partner whom she shared three children, had the daunted task of offering a eulogy.
As reported by TMZ, Diddy gave a passionate, heartfelt eulogy on behalf of his former partner but more importantly his friend. He said:
“Anybody knows Kim, she just like a person you vibe with, you know?” “Like I can’t put our relationship in a certain box. She always told me, seriously, she thought God sent me here, sent her here to help me out. I’d be like, ‘Girl, what you talkin’ ’bout?’ I didn’t really understand, like, how to love. We went through some circumstances with my family, we didn’t have a big family and all that. She just really started breaking down the exterior in me and the shell that I put up.”
Porter, 47, was funeralized in Columbus, GA at the Cascade Hills Church. The rest of Diddy’s touching tribute was found below.
