Chris Brown is hosting a public yard sale in front of his house today, but cops are trying to shut it down.
On Tuesday, the singer took to Instagram to reveal his home address in Tarzana, Calif. where he’s selling high-end designer items, some of which he has worn in music videos and at red carpet events. The items will be available at discounted prices, with a portion of the proceeds going towards non-profit organizations that Chris supports.
But the LAPD is attempting to shut it down using a law that doesn’t exist. According to TMZ, Chris was visited by an LAPD officer on Tuesday, who informed him that he couldn’t have a garage sale because he didn’t have a permit.

That’s when Chris’ lawyer got involved and told cops that permits are not required in the City of L.A., so the yard sale will continue operating legally.
Cops also expressed fear that the crowds will be too large, saying they are concerned about “the impact [of the yard sale] on the community” and “the safety of the people who are there.”
His team has announced that they’re letting people in 10 at a time. Around 100 people were lined up at about 7 a.m., while police patrol the area by car. Some brought chairs as they waited for the sale to start. The two-day event is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday. Items will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis.
