Yung Miami has been holding up the City Girls’ name solo for the past year while her other half, JT, was sent to prison for credit card fraud. We’ve all been screaming #FreeJT but we can’t wait until it’s backwards.
The rapper’s legal team filed a notion to have her move from a prison to a halfway house so that she’s able to work on her music. The Blast reports that she was given 108 days good conduct time credit, so now she has 15.6 months credited towards her two-year sentence. Her attorneys believes that she has exhibited good behavior and should be granted permission to serve the rest of her sentence in a supervised facility.
“It is without hesitation that I can proffer that you will never hear from this Defendant regarding any type of crime, much less an economic one. Granting this recommendation will allow the Defendant to get back to the studio where she belongs,” the files read . “[She] is one of two girls that make up the rap duo City Girls,” the documents add. “Beginning around her change of plea City Girls became a force in the music industry. They have grown an intense fan base and have developed relationships with the elite of the elite.”
This seemed like a bullet proof plan but the court’s judge denied the motion and decided to leave her fate in the hands of the Bureau of Prisons. So there’s a chance that JT will be home earlier than expected.
If you think the ladies are acting up, wait until they #FreeJT!
