In the wake of his arrest, Chris Brown is maintaining his innocence.
The singer, along with two other people, was detained in Paris on potential charges of aggravated rape and drug infractions after a woman filed a rape complaint.
Brown, who was taken into custody, returned to social media to deny any wrongdoing. He posted an image of the phrase “This Bitch Lyin’,” which was taken from a T-shirt from his Black Pyramid collection.
“I WANNA MAKE IT PERFECTLY CLEAR…… THIS IS FALSE AND A WHOLE LOT OF CAP!” he wrote on Instagram. “NNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEERRRRRR!!!!!! FOR MY DAUGHTER AND MY FAMILY THIS IS SO DISPRESPECTFUL AND IS AGAINST MY CHARACTER AND MORALS!!!!!”
According to The Blast, Brown was at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel on the night in question, but was not in the room when the alleged incident went down.
In 2016, he was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after former Miss California Baylee Curran said he threatened her with a gun at his Tarzana, Calif. home. Brown maintained his innocence and the case was tossed due to lack of evidence. The incident inspired him to create the “This Bitch Lyin’” T-shirts, which he sold on his Black Pyramid website.
Fans and friends have also taken to social media to voice their support for the singer. T.I. posted a screenshot announcing Chris’ new record deal with RCA, which includes ownership of his masters. Tip seemed suspicious of the timing. “First this… Then RAPE allegations?” he asked.
His “Stranger Things” collaborator Joyner Lucas also seemed to imply that Chris was a victim in this situation. “Smh GET THE FUCK OFF MY NIGGAZ DICK BRO!!” he wrote. “@chrisbrownofficial ain’t rape nobody. Any and every way someone gets the opportunity to create a story and try to ruin my niggaz legacy they take it. It won’t happen tho. Anybody who actually thinks breezy needs to take some pussy got issues.”
