The Breakfast Club‘s Charlemagne The God recently came under fire for comments made on Twitter in 2010 regarding R. Kelly’s 2002 child pornography case after appearing on the Surviving R. Kelly documentary.

Additionally, some of the viewers were critical of the fact that Charlemagne, who faced a statutory rape charge in 2001 when he was accused of raping a 15 year old girl, but plead out to contributing to the delinquency of a minor, was asked to participate in the documentary.

With so much controversy surrounding the subject, Charlemagne apologized to one of Kelly’s accusers, Lisa Van Allen, during her recent interview on The Breakfast Club, for his insensitive comments.

“I apologize for any jokes that I’ve made that may have upset you or any of the other victims. Honestly, none of us were thinking about that ten, fifteen years ago. We were just thinking about clowning R. Kelly, but we weren’t thinking about the actual victims,” said Charlemagne.
