Chance the Rapper Performs on ‘GMA’ Summer Concert Series

Chance the Rapper brought The Big Day to “GMA.”

Three weeks after releasing his debut album, Lil Chano took over the “Good Morning America” Summer Concert Series on Friday (Aug. 16) to perform a medley of hits live in New York’s Central Park.

“We gon’ sing it so all of New York can hear us today!” said the Grammy-winning rapper while performing “Do You Remember.”

With his family including his parents and brother Taylor Bennett looking on, he celebrated his faith on the gospel-inspired “Town on the Hill” and worked up a sweat to the Knox Fortune-assisted “Let’s Go on the Run.”

Just in time for the weekend, Chance turned the stage into a giant party for “Hot Shower” featuring some special guests. DaBaby and MadeinTYO had the crowd lit as they popped up for their guest verses.

Chance, who’s expecting another daughter with his wife Kirsten Corley, also sat down for an interview, where he discussed his $1 million donation to Chicago Public Schools and his new album. “The title is based off of the best day that’s ever happened to me, my wedding day. Shout-out to my wife. I love my wife,” he said.

While backstage at “GMA,” Chance was presented with a plaque for becoming the first independent SoundCloud Premier creator to hit a billion streams. His first upload was eight years ago with his 10 Day mixtape with his latest being The Big Day, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
