Chance the Rapper is a married man.
The Grammy-winning rapper, 25, wed his longtime girlfriend and mother of his child, Kirsten Corley, on Saturday (Mar. 9) in Newport Beach, Calif.
According to E! News, the couple exchanged vows in front of 150 family members and friends while overlooking the ocean at The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach, Calif.
The stunning bride wore a strapless white gown as she walked down the aisle to meet her groom, who looked sharp in a white tux with a black bow tie. The couple’s three-and-a-half-year-old daughter Kensli also participated in the lavish ceremony, which featured white floral arrangements.
“It was a romantic ceremony and a string quartet played as they entered,” an eyewitness tells E! News. “In the middle of the ceremony, their little daughter Kensli ran up and Chance picked her up and held her. It was very sweet and loving to watch.”
Chance’s brother Taylor Bennett was in attendance, along with the couple’s famous friends including Dave Chappelle, Kanye West, and Kim Kardashian, who wore a colorful dress. “They were all laughing together and having a great time. They posed for photos and Chance came over to chat. They congratulated him and gave him hugs,” said the eyewitness. “It looked like they were very happy to be there and to see their friend get married. They both never stopped smiling.”
Gospel singer Fred Hammond serenaded the couple and guests including Joey Purp snapped photos in the black-and-white photo booth during the reception.
Chance and Kirsten legally wed during a civil ceremony at the Cook County clerk’s office in Chicago on Dec. 27, reports the Chicago Tribune.
Chance proposed to his childhood sweetheart on the Fourth of July. The couple first met at Chance’s mother’s office party when he was 9 years old, where Corley performed Destiny’s Child’s “Independent Women.”
Prior to the wedding, Chance gushed about his bride-to-be. “I knew I was gonna marry that girl. And I ain’t wanna jump the gun,” he said. “16 years later it’s happening. This [weekend] is the time, and the place is my wedding. I’m gonna dance with my wife because this is my destiny.”
