Cardi B Leads 2019 BET Awards Nominations

Cardi season continues.

After winning her first Grammy in February, Cardi B leads the 2019 BET Awards with seven nominations including two for Video of the Year for “Money” and “Please Me,” her collaboration with Bruno Mars. She also earned nods for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, Viewers’ Choice Award, and Album of the Year for her debut Invasion of Privacy.

Drake follows with five nominations including Video of the Year for “Nice for What,” which will face off with Childish Gambino’s “This Is America,” The Carters’ “APESHIT,” 21 Savage and J. Cole’s “a lot,” and Cardi B’s “Money” and “Please Me.”

Beyoncé, Travis Scott, and J. Cole all scored four nominations each, while Bruno Mars, 21 Savage, Childish Gambino, H.E.R., and Ella Mai each earned three nominations.

Nipsey Hussle received a posthumous nod for Best Male Hip-Hop Artist. He will compete in the category with J. Cole, Travis Scott, Meek Mill, 21 Savage, and Drake.

The 2019 BET Awards will air live on Sunday, June 23, from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
