Fresh off the heels of his seventh studio album, Western Promises, Wildcard returns with a stunning love anthem, “The Scorpio Element,” featuring Justin Cohen who appears on the hook.
The track serves as the first of 12 monthly zodiac-themed singles, and it’s a moving look into what it means to really love someone amidst heartache and pain from past relationships. It’s the kind of narrative that can only come from someone who’s truly lived it, and you can feel that in Wildcard’s bars, like when he raps: “It’s easier for me to rap than go and face my fears.”
“The Scorpio Element” is made all the more powerful through the layered production from C-Lance, a prominent beatsmith whose previous collaborations include working with Vinnie Paz, The Game, and Tech N9ne. Given his background, he’s the perfect match for the heart-on-his-sleeve raps of Wildcard, who also brings a familial element to the single. His father, and frequent collaborator, Ric “Pops” Andrade closes out the song with a bluesy, evocative guitar solo.
“The Scorpio Element” is available through all major digital retailers and streaming platforms through Wildcard’s Quality Music imprint.
