Actor Jussie Smollett has turned himself in early Thursday morning at central booking after being indicted on Wednesday February 20, 2019, according to Chicago PD. Less than a month ago, Smollett was a victim of a very disturbing hate crime which has now turned into a felony.

“Empire” actor Jussie Smollett has turned himself in to face a charge of making a false police report when he said he was attacked in downtown Chicago by two men who hurled racist and anti-gay slurs and looped a rope around his neck.” –Chicago PD–

The 36 year-old actor is expected to appear in court later today after a morning news conference held by Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson. Jussie could be looking at up to three years in prison as well as being held financially responsible for the cost of the investigation into his report of his beating.
