Big Cousin takes to the streets of London in his dope new video for “Anywhere,” a high-key banger featuring Cocomofo that serves as a bit of a reintroduction for the NYC native.
The black-and-white video is directed by Gregor Emmanuel, who perfectly captures the laid-back, woozy vibe of the track itself. And it all serves to highlight Big Cousin’s presence—he’s a natural on the mic and in front of the camera—while giving him space to live within the audio-visual experience.
As for that bit about this being a reintroduction, it’s more so that the emcee is showing off a different side of his skillset. His previous project, 2019’s well received Blue Money EP, leaned more into golden era raps and production, but “Anywhere” finds him coasting into new territory as he gears up for the July 27th release of his forthcoming EP, Sport Mode through his Global Not Local Records imprint. The five track offering is produced entirely by Ibn Itaka, whose stunning and boundary-pushing instrumentals have led Big Cousin to experiment with a fresh new sound.
