Quincy Jones is arguably the most influential artists in the history of recorded music. As a musician, producer, arranger, record label president, publisher, and so much more, his career has spanned over 70 years. He discovered Oprah Winfrey and help launch Will Smith as T.V. star. He has worked with legends such as Sarah Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, and his work with Michael Jackson created some of the most successful recordings of all-time. After filming a special and plenty of speculation about when it will air, Q85: A Musical Celebration For Quincy Jones finally will get an official date. The special honoring “Q” will air on December 3rd at 7 PM on BET. The tribute show will feature performances from Stevie Wonder, Brian McKnight, Meghan Trainor, John Legend, Patti Austin, Gloria Estefan, Charlie Wilson, Ledisi, Gregory Porter, Gladys Knight, and others. Oprah Winfrey will host the event.
Quincy Jones’s 85th year has been a memorable one. He has started in a highly acclaimed documentary Quincy, which was produced by his daughter Rashida Jones. Also, has delivered some of the greatest interviews with candor and truth-telling. On his 85th year, we salute the iconic Quincy Delight Jones.
