Several arrests have been made in connection with Pop Smoke’s murder.
According to TMZ, the Los Angeles Police Department served multiple search warrants around L.A. early Thursday morning, and five people were arrested on warrants in connection to the rapper’s murder.
Three adults and two juveniles were reportedly arrested. It’s unclear what the suspects are being charged with, but all five will reportedly be interviewed by police before being booked.
The arrests come nearly five months after the Brooklyn rapper was shot and killed. Four masked men entered his rented Hollywood Hills home on the morning of Feb. 19 and fired multiple shots, fatally wounding the 20-year-old rapper, who was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
According to TMZ, security footage appears to show that his murder was a targeted hit and not a robbery as initial reports suggested.
On Friday, Pop Smoke’s posthumous debut album Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon was released featuring 50 Cent, Quavo, Lil Baby, DaBaby, Swae Lee, Future, Tyga, and more. It is expected to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 210-230,000 equivalent album units.
