Ariana Grande Brings Out Nicki Minaj, Diddy, & *NSYNC at Coachella

Ariana Grande makes Coachella history.

As the youngest artist to ever headline, the 25-year-old singer capped off the three-day festival in Indio, Calif. on Sunday (April 14) with an epic set filled with surprise guests.

She opened “Arichella” with a Last Supper-themed performance of “God Is a Woman” before transitioning into her Thank U, Next track “Bad Idea.”

“I’ve been rehearsing my whole fucking life for this moment,” said Grande, who is currently on her “Sweetener World Tour.”

After much speculation, she brought out four out of five members of *NSYNC (sans Justin Timberlake) for “Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored,” which samples the group’s “It Makes Me Ill.” They continued with “Tearin’ Up My Heart” as Ariana performed choreographed moves alongside JC Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone, and Lance Bass.

“Coachella, this has been a dream of ours,” said JC to which Grande replied, “I can die now.”

Later in her set, Grande was joined by frequent collaborator Nicki Minaj for “Side to Side.” Despite technical difficulties, they still powered through the performance before continuing with “Bang Bang.” “We can’t hear anything,” Ariana said at one point.

The surprises didn’t end there. After performing “Break Your Heart Right Back,” Grande brought out Diddy and Ma$e for “Mo Money Mo Problems.” Puff shouted out Biggie, Tupac, and Grande’s late boyfriend Mac Miller. “You got to keep that love in your heart,” he said before praising Grande. “She’s been through a lot, and she’s still standing. Give it up for the number one artist in the world.”

During Sunday’s nostalgic set, Grande also delivered Sweetener tracks like “R.E.M” and “Breathin” with an orchestra, as well as Thank U, Next favorites like “7 Rings” and “NASA.”

She capped off the 90-minute spectacular with her chart-topping hit “Thank U, Next” as confetti and fireworks exploded in the desert sky.
