After Nipsey Hussle’s Death, Over 230k Sign Petition To Rename LA Intersection

In the wake of rapper and activist Nipsey Hussle‘s tragic death, over 230,000 have signed a Change.org petition to rename a Los Angeles intersection after the star. These huge signature growth happened in just 48 hours – the largest music-related petition spike we have seen on Change.org.

The petition calls for LA Councilman Harris-Dawson to rename the intersection of Crenshaw and Slauson, near where he was tragically killed on Sunday,  “in honor of a community icon.”

One signer, Helen Habtay, wrote on the petition page, “Nipsey was loved by so many in the community. He wanted to make an impact in the community by informing people about ownership and the importance of working together as a race. Unfortunately he was gunned down and killed. We must end gun violence and protect one another.”

If you’d like to speak with a Change.org representative or the petition starter, please let me know. To look at the signatures and comments in real-time, the petition can be found at: change.org/nipseyhussle.
