After explaining why Eminem did not make his top 10, Snoop Dogg is revealing who did.
Taking to Instagram, the West Coast icon shared his greatest MCs of all time. The list, which is mostly made of living legends from hip-hop’s golden age, kicks off with Slick Rick and Ice Cube. Snoop also paid homage to New York pioneers including LL Cool J, KRS-One, and Rakim, along with Run and D from Run-DMC and Big Daddy Kane. Ice-T and Too $hort rounded out the Dogg’s top 10.
Along with his list, Snoop also had some words for those who may not agree. “My top 10 MCs of all time…Mines not yours,” he wrote.
After seeing their names in Snoop’s top 10, Slick Rick and Big Daddy Kane responded. “Thanks for the love Big Dogg!” commented Kane.
Tha Doggfather explained why his list is comprised of hip-hop’s older generation instead of his peers. “lot ni**az been cryin about me leaving people off my top 10 without. Even seeing my shit so here it is F. Y. I.,” he wrote. “Notice how none of my peers or m. Cs after me are on the list respect ya. Gz is what I was taught if u offended you’ll get over it I get left off a lot of top10s I’m not even on this one.”
In a recent interview with “The Breakfast Club,” Snoop shared why he doesn’t consider Eminem one of the GOATs. “Cuz did that. He did that to the fullest,” he said of the “Rap God.” “That’s one of my teammates, that’s one of my brothers, he did that. But when you’re talking about this hip-hop shit that I can’t live without, I can live without that.”

Snoop was recently in the studio with Kanye West and their collaboration may appear on Kanye’s upcoming album. Despite their history, Snoop didn’t hesitate to collaborate with Ye at the request of Dr. Dre, who is executive producing the album. “When your mentor asks of you, you don’t question that. That’s my trust with Dre,” he said.
