This Year’s Grammy Awards Hit Record Low in Ratings

This year’s Grammy Awards has collected the lowest in ratings in the production’s history. According to FOX News, the CBS special brought in a 5.4 rating in adults ranging from 18-49. This year’s Grammy Awards averaged 18.7 million viewers, which is a 6% decrease from last year. The production’s demo number decreased by 3.6% from the year of 2019. This has ranked the show’s worst record in history.

Last year’s Grammy’s tallied in a total of 19.9 million viewers with 100,000 audience members. It had a 5.6 rating in adults ranging from 18-49. The least-watched Grammy’s Award show goes back to 2006 ranking in a total of 17 million viewers, but the target audience and age group saved the show by still ranking in high.

Despite the news, The 2020 Grammy’s was the most-watched television show on all of Sunday night. Some hip-hop and R&Bs favorites took home a grammy award. Performers also made a tribute to the late Nipsey Hussle and Kobe Bryant, who are forever in the hearts of many.
