Assault Charges Against Remy Ma Dropped by Judge

Remy Ma’s assault charges are now behind her. Monday, the State of the Culture co-host was in a courthouse in New York City with her legal team for allegedly assaulting Love & Hip-Hop: New York cast member Brittney Taylor in April.

During the hearing on Monday prosecutors detailed they were unable to prove beyond a reasonable doubt of the assault, TMZ reports.

There is no visual evidence of the punch and there were also no witnesses to the incident, resulting in the dismissal of the case.

After Taylor stated she was harmed, Remy was charged with two counts of assault, one count of aggravated harassment and a count of second-degree harassment. Remy would state she was not even present at the place the alleged assault took place.

“Remy has always maintained her complete innocence as she never laid a hand on her celebrity-obsessed, clout chasing, credibility challenged accuser,” Remy’s attorney Dawn Florio said to TMZ. “Unfortunately, these manufactured allegations caused my client to suffer the indignities of having to wear an ankle monitor while having her freedom limited by travel restrictions and an 8:00 PM curfew.

“These restrictions have hurt my client’s ability to perform, causing hundreds of thousands of dollars of lost income. District Attorney Vance’s office should be commended for its exercise of sound judgment in agreeing to dismiss these unwarranted charges.”
