T-Pain Cancels Tour Over Low Ticket Sales

The show won’t go on for T-Pain.

The singer has canceled his upcoming tour. But instead of lying to his fans about the reason behind the cancelation, T-Pain decided to come clean and reveal that it was due to low ticket sales.

In a video posted Monday, he explained that his upcoming “1UP DLC Tour” didn’t sell as well as he expected. He admitted that “some corners got cut, production went missing,” and he wasn’t as involved because the last tour was a success.

“I’m gonna take it upon myself to cancel the ‘1UP DLC Tour’ because it just would’ve been a bad look for me and it wouldn’t have been entertaining for y’all,” he explained. “I’d rather just leave it for a later time.”

Despite his team telling him otherwise, he disclosed the real reason behind the cancelation. “I was advised to lie about this and say that I needed some time, or I needed some alone time or me time, some shit like that,” he said. “We fucked up. I’ma keep it real with y’all. Most artists lie. Whenever concerts get canceled or tours get canceled, it’s for low ticket sales. It ain’t really about whatever the fuck reason they say.”

The 12-city tour was set to kick off Nov. 1 in Detroit and travel across the country throughout the month, with stops in Philadelphia, Houston, and Seattle, before wrapping Nov. 23 in San Francisco.

T-Pain released his album 1UP in February and launched the first leg of his “1UP Tour,” which ran from March through April.
