Rap rookie Lil Nas X isn’t here for the negativity. The hip-hop newcomer has decided to use love to battle hate coming his way.
Lil Nas went to Twitter this week to warn male haters about the consequences of coming at him the wrong way.
Nas X went to Instagram Tuesday to warn people about having anti-gay things to say to him and also sparked a positive message from Dwyane Wade in his comments section.
Nas initially went to Twitter on the last day of Pride Month to let fans know he is a proud member of the L.G.B.T.Q. community.
Lil Nas X thought he had made it obvious. But if fans needed more clarity about the “Old Town Road” rapper’s sexuality, he gave it to them on Sunday during the final hours of Pride month. In a tweet, Lil Nas X, 20, pointed to the lyrics of “c7osure,” a song on his debut EP, as confirmation that he identifies as a member of the L.G.B.T.Q. community. In the song’s lyrics, Lil Nas X sings, “Ain’t no more actin’, man that forecast say I should just let me grow.” Later he says, “This is what I gotta do, can’t be regrettin’ when I’m old.” (NY Times)
New reports claim Lil Nas X felt inspired to fully come out following a weekend performance in Europe with singers Miley Cyrus and “Old Town Road” remix collaborator Billy Ray Cyrus.
Sources directly connected to the rapper tell TMZ, after leaving the stage he tweeted a series of declarations … all but saying he’s gay. The post was oblique, with Nas saying things like, “some of y’all already know, some of y’all don’t care, some of y’all not gone fwm no more.” However, our sources say he absolutely intended this as his way of coming out. We’re told he was “tired of being closeted.” He did not tell anyone — Miley, Billy Ray or anyone else in advance — that he was about to tell the world he’s gay. (TMZ)
