XXL has revealed its 12th annual list of hip-hop’s brightest new stars, including newcomers and some familiar faces with hits already under their belt.
The 11 artists who make up this year’s Freshman Class include Gunna, Blueface, DaBaby, Rico Nasty, Lil Mosey, Roddy Ricch, YBN Cordae, YK Osiris, and Comethazine. For the first time ever, three women also make the list—Tierra Whack, Rico Nasty, and Megan Thee Stallion.
They join a prestigious list of Freshman alum including Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Mac Miller, Lil Uzi Vert, 21 Savage, Big Sean, Wiz Khalifa, and Travis Scott.
As usual, XXL will be releasing interviews, freestyles, and cyphers from the Class of 2019 in the coming weeks. The Freshman will also hit the stage during the 2019 XXL Freshman show at New York City’s PlayStation Theater on July 22 and at The Novo in Los Angeles on July 25.
