Michael Ealy Once Turned Down Role in Beyoncé’s Music Video

Michael Ealy did the unthinkable and denied an opportunity to work with Beyoncé.

Ealy is currently promoting his new movie, Intruder, starring Meghan Good and Dennis Quaid.  Intruder follows a young couple Scott (Ealy) and Annie (Good) Howard after they move into a new home. Charlie Peck (Quaid) is the previous owner and has a hard time letting go of his former home. It is a suspenseful “shout at the screen” thriller.

During his press run, the veteran stopped by Busy Tonight to share an interesting moment in his career. In the past, he was a prospect to play the love interest in Beyonce’s number one hit, “Irreplaceable.” He declined the offer but had valid reasoning.

“I didn’t want to be the guy who she said, ‘To the left, to the left’ to. Who wants to be that guy? It’s like the worst thing ever.”

The audience found great amusement in the 45-year-old actor’s commentary.

When the opportunity presented itself again, he didn’t hesitate to work with Queen Bey. He starred in the “Halo” music video.

“I heard the song and I was like, ‘I can do that, for sure.”

Ealy then tells the story of how Beyoncé sings in between shots of the video. As a result of the admiration, he found it hard to focus, while in her presence. Ealy is one of the many blessed individuals to have been graced by the Queen herself.

Be sure to catch Intruder in theaters, now. You do not want to miss it.
