Atlanta rapper Future isn’t ready to cancel Gucci. The hip-hop veteran has shared his take on the backlash the controversial brand has received since recently pulling a racist-looking blackface sweater.
In a new radio interview, Future kept it 100 on why he’s still going to don Gucci for the immediate future.
“I bought Gucci before it got cancelled. So I’m still going to wear it. Because that’s my money. If you want to give me my money back, then we can talk – you can buy my clothes back if you don’t want me to wear it. I don’t feel like they did [the blackface sweater] out of ill intentions, but it ain’t for me to judge. Everybody always wants to judge somebody before having a real conversation with the designer. Without having a real conversation with the designer, y’all don’t know the background of the designer. The designer mama could be black, the designer daddy could be black, they don’t even understand. They’re just going off what somebody say off a comment. I can’t go off a comment. I just don’t know how to do it. That would be ignorant of me.” (Streetz Atlanta)
